Opportunity for an Enthusiastic, Dynamic, Sports Coach/Teacher

the opportunity

We have several positions available – ranging from:

1. Casual (self-employed) multi-sports, or racquets (eg: tennis, badminton) coach to assist a senior coach at one or more clubs.

2. Self-employed, qualified coach independently working in schools as well as clubs.

3. Employed (part time or full time) level 3+ experienced sports coach, or have a degree in sports development/education (or an ex PE teacher), to lead a team of coaches, creating new opportunities for using racquet sports as the main vehicle for delivering joy and health programmes to the community.

Personal Specification

Essential:

  • a conscientious,
  • self-starter,
  • with any sports coaching certificate and experience with any racquet sport;
  • willing to learn,
  • can connect with students of all ages and abilities,
  • excellent with time management, and
  • lives in North East England.

Desirable — any of the following skills:

  • sports science,
  • sports coaching,
  • sports development,
  • work as a coach with teachers at a school,
  • work as a coach in a sports club.

Desirable:

  • a full driving licence and your own transport (or willing to buy your own transport soon). Not essential if you are working at your local sports/tennis club (within walking distance).
  • Start immediately.

Will NOT suit someone who cannot:

  • work unsupervised;
  • learn and stay organised;
  • follow instruction and put ideas into action from the Head Coach and keep them informed;
  • be creative/adaptable/flexible;
  • be self-motivating;
  • be inclusive – enjoy working equally with children, adults, and groups with diverse abilities;
  • agree to our ethos & values.
